We went to bed early last night. Some of us much earlier than others. Since the clouded over hosted stargazing, we've been planning to go back up and try again. The guy hosting it said he'd have the lights turned off for a few nights to follow if it looked like clear skies. Last night I was awake at 11:30 pm (or 10:30 pm depending on when you move your clock back). I looked out our balcony and could see stars. So, I woke Clay and we threw on some shorts and up we went. We'd already seen the Southern Cross but remembered seeing the Milky Way once from a ship and wanted to see it again. Sadly, all the top deck lights were on and we could barely see the Southern Cross but not the Milky Way.
Clay was up before sunrise (I am sure) again today. We got an early start. Fairly calm seas, a good thing and predicted to remain that way to next port of Maputo, Mozambique. Clay went to a cooking demo to see a recipe of English Muffins cooked. We still can't figure out why anyone would want would homemade English Muffins when you can buy perfectly good ones from Thomas' (the recipe inventor). We watched a couple of lectures today. We've seen the afternoon movie, so didn't go. Tonight is casual. We've approved the Waterside menu, so we'll dine there.
I have literally nothing to write about. Oh, Clay went to Reception and broke $120 in twenties into smaller bills. After much ocean watching, we've seen nothing but a few birds, flying fish and some ships.
Coming up on the horizon though, southern Africa!
