Step 1 - Fly to LAX

We started out this first leg with a bit of stress as we learned first thing in the morning that our evening flight would be delayed. The jet we were flying had to come to RDU from LAX and it was delayed by 2 hours eventually. We never did learn why it was late. So until it arrived at RDU we were worried. But it was fine. We just got in to LAX 2 hours later. Then it took 40 minutes for the jet bridge to get to the door of the plane. It took over an hour for the luggage to arrive on a different carousel than was announced or displayed on the baggage carousel signs. So it took us 2 hours to get outside to call the Best Western Airpark courtesy shuttle. Fortunately, they arrived within minutes and it was about 1am when we got into a very comfortable bed. It had 4 small square pillows. It was nice enough though and included the airport shuttle and a breakfast buffet. We will stay here again on the way back home.
