We have been home for a full week now! Yes, we made our annual road trip to Florida and Mom's house for Christmas. I woke up with a fever and flu-like symptoms on Christmas Eve. I only got worse. By Sunday Clay and Mom were sick and Matt too. We had a pajama day on Sunday. Amazingly, FX had a string of back to back romantic comedies airing and we spent the day without ever changing the channel! Clay was in heaven! Anyway, I felt terrible and even worse for infecting everyone else! I still feel pretty terrible. I sound like I have a hairball and I feel like I am slogging through thick mud. Clay thinks I have turned a corner. Let's hope so. I hope that Mom and Matt are feeling better by now too.
Vultures all over the neighbors' house and the dead possum |
Oh, Dead Possum Christmas. We woke to Clay discovering a dead possum in front of Mom's mailbox. He said it just looked like it had laid down there for a nap. By the time we finished opening presents a flock of buzzards had arrived and dragged it out into the street and then across the street. It was like something out of a horror flick. We were all outside looking at the event when our guests arrived for Christmas breakfast. It was good to see Aunt Pat and Uncle Sam and this year Mom's friend Judy came to stay with Pat for Christmas. So, we enjoyed visiting with all of them over a few good meals. (I hope none of them got sick! And if they did, Sorry!)
